    Hey there,

I recently replaced the tires, had no problem with the back wheel (yay for shaft driven!) on my '82 xj750 maxim. When I get the front wheel on the order is axle, hole, spacer, wheel, speedo, hole, washer, nut. I'm not sure where to go from there, do I tighten the clamp first, then the nut? How do I get it aligned?

When I try, it does not spin freely and seems to bind on one of the brake disks. Can someone point me in the right direction so I don't mess up?

    Thanks,

You tighten up the nut (axle) first and then the pinch bolt. I usually take the caliper(s) off when replacing a wheel as it makes it a lot easier than trying to line the disc(s) up at the same time as everything else too. You may need to spread the pads apart a bit prior putting the calipers back on.

There is no "aligning" other than getting everything back on in the right order.
