    Hello Guys im new to the site. I just bought an 81 XJ750rh parts bike. im wanting to mod it into ether a bobber or a Madmax type bike. Any and all help and advise would be great. This is my first bike and project.

    Can not reiterate these guys saying....GET IT RUNNING...Then modify it. It will give you less headaches down the road. Plus it will give you a base when you start to modify it and some goes wrong you know you can go back to it.

    Have you found a spare engine yet?
    If you have no luck I'm just north of the border in Vancouver BC just picked up a 750r that I neede carbs for engine turns over . I only picked it up for the carbs you can have the engine for $150

    Here is problem but seat is not damaged and valve face ok also

    image.jpg Clean valve seat and face and it holds fluid in port shown in pic tells me valve is not bent
    Shim cups dropped out so valve clearances all wrong
    And no broken studs on exhaust side
