    i have an 1982 xj750 seca.

need help figuring out the controls on the handle bar. the switches i do know are the turn signal, horn, start, and headlight. there are a couple more what are they and what do they do.

i want to put pod air filters on the bike do i have to pull the motor out of the bike to be able to get to the air box and pull out intact.

i also want to put on a handle bar mounted front break master cylinder. what do i have to do and what will work with the duel disk set up.

You don't actually need to remove the engine from the frame to get the airbox out. You can cut it into smaller pieces to remove it (unless you want to keep it in one piece)
Moving to a handlebar master cylinder is a great idea and one I am thinking of doing myself. However, you will not only need the proper size master cylinder (one that's big enough to work with two calipers) and two brake lines to reach the calipers, - you will be losing the switch controls on the right handlebar as well as your right hand mirror mount. You need to find the switch housing from another model to wire to your starter switch and the switch for the auxilary light if you still have it.
I don't know exactly how yours is set up, but my 750 Seca has the mirror mount incorperated into the switch housing, so I will need another clamp to hold the mirror to the handlebars.
My idea, instead of running two brake lines from the master cylinder to the calipers, I plan to run one line from the master cylinder to a T-junction mounted somewhere under the lower tree, then a line to each of the calipers to keep it looking less cluttered. PD

    on my xj650lj

left hand is clutch, lights hi / low, horn, choke, right is break, starter-kill, and starter-button.

but i'm not sure that i have the stock seca turbo controls, they might be from a maxim.
