Newbie checking in

    Joined up about 2 1/2 weeks ago...been lurking/learning since.
    Figured it was time to check in.

    Bought my 1982 XJ750J Maxim about a month ago. 15k original miles, and in pretty good shape with the exception of 90% of the clearcoat on the aluminum worn off, and aluminum dull/oxidized.

    I'm 42. After 20 years, the wife decided to cave and let me get a bike.
    Gas prices have outweighed her concern for my safety. :lol:

    When I haven't been practicing riding, I've been pulling off parts and polishing them up.
    Bikes looking pretty good now.
    Currently pulling off the emblems, and touching up the paint on the tank.

    I'll get some pics up when the tanks done.

    Sure to be posting questions, as there seems to be some really savvy XJ owners here.
