HI all i'm new here. I just baught an 82 xj550. It was in peices when i baught it. With the help of a mechanic buddy of mine it is now all in one piece. the problem we are having now is it woun't start. When we short the starter silaniod it cranks but won't start. we know the silaniod is bad. we know we are getting pwer to the tci(we can'tfigure out why the power is going in to the out side of it though) We tested to see if we are getting power to the coils but it is no go. now unfortunatly my ignition is missing so we wired to blue red/white and brown together and we get power. turns signals and break light all working.except horn and head light. Please help me. I keep reading it may be a bad tci but we have a second from a parts bike i baught. I can't seethem both being bad. please help me get my potential lemon running thanks

I would replace the relay. Mine went today and everything worked perfectly, cranked strong, lights, horn but no spark. Just switched with the kickstand relay with the one under the gas tank and now it works. (square box with 4 metal connections sticking out.)
