    G'day
    New to site so thought I would just say hello, I have just purchased an XJ750, would really appreciate some help with determining the exact model, ID plate say 11/83 45T-000149 XJ750R, all the info I have found keeps referring to RL model. Any help would be great. Not sure if I will be doing a full restore or just modifying.

    Yes mate it's an XJ750 RL basically it's a XJ900 chassis with a 750 motor.
    If you do a search it will come up a few times.
    I've got one myself and there are quite a few on the board.

    Thanks gunnabuild1, Does that mean most parts from a 900 will fit? It seems a bit hard to find exact matches for the 750.

    Yes I've bought 2 900's as parts bikes the only difference basically is the engine itself.
    At least that's what I've found so far,I'm curious about the final drive gearing though.

    Per Chacal's Listing:

    COUNTRY: AUSTRALIA

    MODEL NAME: XJ750RL
    STREET NAME: 1984 XJ750 Seca
    MODEL ID CODE: 45T
    FRAME ID: 45T
    SERIAL NUMBER STARTS AT: 000101
    NOTE: 750 engine in an XJ900 frame. Approximately only 286 sold into Australia. Engine actually displaces 749cc (1cc larger than standard XJ750 models, which were only 748cc's) and uses a hotter exhaust cam, larger intake valves, different crankcase, cylinder jugs, and pistons/rings, the XJ900 type clutch assembly and middle gears set, as well as the strengthened 2nd gear set as used in the XJ650 Turbo, XJ750-X, and XJ900 models.

    To clarify the "Model name" a little bit:

    R = Seca
    L = 1984 (K = '83, etc.)

    Almost the same as XJ750E-II, and going by the info I have only 2000 made; looks like they did another RL in 1984 also for the Canadian market only 3000 made model # 44X.
