I say you need to clean the idle jet.
Mine did exact same until I cleaned idel jet. Runs fine now.

Yep, after sitting for 5 years it's a safe bet the pilot (idle) jets are plugged with crap.

You'll need to take the pilot jets out and soak them in carb cleaner. Trying to spray cleaner through them while they are still in the carbs won't do the trick.

Generally takes more than soaking in carb cleaner, i used a torch shining through the hole in the float chamber then looking down the long drilling to check if they were clear and it took several attempts to get them clear as they are really tiny, and that was after 7 years sitting.

Another possible problem could be leaky throttle shaft seals. If you can dribble a little gas directly on the throttle shafts and the engine speeds up from as close to an idle as you can get, you may have a big vacuum leak at the seals. A little gas in a squirt can will help you a lot. If sprayed right into the intake side and it runs better, suspect the idle circuit (still quite likely), if sprayed onto the shafts or carb to engine boots, vacuum leak.
