    The tower filter on your petcock maybe missing or broken. It has screens at different levels. One higher up for ON and one at the bottom for RES. Your tank will run dry on RES or PRI.

    thanks for all the info, that video really helped with explanations about the petcock. now i know what to look for and how the vacuum actuator works.
