no start - Need Help From "XJ Forum MechaniCs"

    Guys, We got 82 XJ650 maxim as a project bike .. Everything works fine
    until rode it for long distance (150 miles) .. D' next day it wont start ..

    oil light lites up .. so added oil ..still doesnt start
    check fuses (okay) checked starter switch (hear a click)

    Any advise guys.. thanks

    You knocked a bunch of "crap" loose riding it, that plugged up the finer jets and passages in the carbs.
    Easy clean !!
    Read the threads titled "Old School, Whole nine yards, Church of the clean"
    Back flush everything, re-set, re-assemble.
    Add an inline paper filter.
    Ride it like you stole it !!

    full tank at this point..lol..Thinking about faulty starter motor..

    Before running it long distance .. got the carb cleaned replaced damaged parts (thanks to chacal) .. Anyways I'd mentioned about the oil lites up ..
    added oil but still lites up .. could be the sensor (I'm checking the electrical right now) so far there is continuity..

    Do you know about the oil window?? on mainstand you check your oil ??

    could be the solenoid. try jumping it out with a screw driver and see if it turns over.

    You just bridge the 2 large terminals with a metal object. Expect a spark.
    Have the bike in neutral.

    I did that already..still nothing .. but just looking it right now .. the wires that goes to D' starter are kind of loose ..(I will check it tom cause it sgetting dark in my garage) ..
    but keep the suggestions flowing guys ..we in the" XJ forum " are the best tech.. thanks guys

    So your starter isn't cranking? Can you push start the bike?

    Sheriff .. yeap starter doesn't crank .. & nope cant pust start the bike..
    but I ill work on the bike tomorrow after work..too dark in my garage ..

    soilnoid is cheaper than a starter.
