Thanks to Fitz, Ricomatic and mlew getting on my tail about checking my valve clearance and possibly saving me from a major catastophy I've....

Replaced four out of spec valve shims
    New oil and air filter
    New plugs
    New fuses
    New battery
    Oil change
    New in-line fuel filter
    New yics eliminator
Cleaned and bench synched carbs (waiting for vacuum gauges to wet synch carbs).
It starts and idles around 1000 rpms. When I try to roll the throttle it dies. What's causing this?

    It needs to be sync'ed.

And the YICS eliminator needs to come out until you do the sync.

"Wet-setting" refers to setting your float levels, and if you didn't do this you'll need to go back and do it first.

    Check your PMs.
