Not one, but two Seca Turbos in S. N Jersey.

As some of you may recall, I've been trying to get a couple of Seca Turbos in service for quite a while now. At this point, I'm afraid the project has stalled and isn't likely to get going again. I could really use the space that these bikes are occupying. I refuse to part them out and would really like to see them go to an XJ enthusiast. I've got quite a bit invested here and am willing to loose some cash if they can go to a good home.

    Here's what I have. An '82, and '83 and a spare engine.

    Here's the condition.

The '83 is by far the nicer of the two bikes. It ran like a champ when I got it but second gear was out. :( After doing as much research as I could, I determined that the only thing to do was split the cases to find out what was happening. Turns out that the shift forks were badly worn. See my gallery for pics. I got new ones as well as a bunch of other new parts but have never been able to get it put back together. I'm just in over my head here and don't know how to proceed. I would try to make it work, but it would break my heart to get everything back together only to find out that I did something wrong.

Needless to say, this bike is in parts. The cases are split (I didn't remove the heads because it was running fine). Gas tank, carbs, seat, etc are currently off the bike. The title is clean.

I bought the '82 primarily as a parts bike about a year ago. It's pretty much all there. The plastics are mostly ok, but at some point it was repainted (poorly). It has a much nicer seat than the '83 so I intended to use it on the '83. It came with no keys but I do have the title.

I also came across a spare engine on eBay about a year ago. It appears to be in good condition, but I've not tried it. It is free.

I also have a ton of other spare parts that I've picked up over the past couple of years.

I am reasonably sure that both turbos are fine.

I have well in excess of $2000 invested in all this. I have no aspirations to get that back. I would like to get $1000 for the lot.

If there's someone out there that can reassemble all this it's a pretty good deal. I know that there's enough here to make one good bike and there may well be enough to make two.

Drop me a line if interested. I can help transport all this if you're reasonably close to S. Jersey.

    Best,

    Greg
