just a piece of advice, the kick stand really should be put up before riding. not sure how or why but i left mine down, made it to the stop sign while starting my left turn i heard scraping which i knew right a way what it was so i kicked it up real quick and all was good. glad i was just starting to move. never done it before and hope to never do it again but the kick stand really does seem to work best when parked, lol

how did you manage that my bike has a kickstand safety switch and it will die if you engage the clutch if the stand is down

    They bypassed the switch.
Honda's solution is a little rubber finger that touches the ground first, kicking up the kickstand. No moving parts or electronics.

You guys could add this part- - give your bike the finger !!

I am pretty sure my sidestand switch is stuck on the stand "down" position
it's on the list of things to fix this winter.. a long list

ya the po bipassed the switch . i have it and it works after i cleaned it up but as most po's do they cut the wire right against the switch. i never had a problem and thought, what retard would leave the kick stand down and try to ride. well. . . tada! won't happen anymore, as of today the maxim's off the road. cyl 1 has next to no compression till it warms up. i got a spare motor but anything removable is on the bike so i gotta switch it all back before swapping motors which puts the triple on hold. . . may just part it out for funds towards the other bike.

Don't part out a running, titled bike. You will spend all kinds of time to beat $350, plus shipping.
    Side stand switch for sale- - $10 + S/H. . . Don't eat asphalt !

it depends on what shape the other motor is in as it's been sitting at least 3 years. won't be till this weekend before i can see if it'll even turn over. if it does then i'll swap back the borrowed parts and cross my fingers. just not sure how long i can keep piecing it back together but it's easiest bike to balance and ride that i've seen yet.

Mine came without the relay as well, i just can't be bothered to spend 10 bux on it. I should be smart enough to remember to kick up the stand. I usually use the center stand anyways.

Only forgot once so far ;) it scared me enough i remember now heh
