    Hello all,

Did anybody encounter an occasional short cicuit on his XJ550? What kappens to me is that i somtimes get a hot groundm which than overheats the 2/3 ignition coil so i get a misfire. I tought it was a faling IC bat after replacing both the problem is still there.I did also swap out the fuse holder but this also did not solve the problem.

My 650 has a thick earth ground from the center of the rear of the mill to the frame under the l/s cover. Without it the bike will do all kinds of stuff. Did the 550 come with this ground?

550 has a battery to motor ground then it goes from motor to battery box same wire,
there is also a ground wire on the coil bolt right side
handle bars after market? painted or anodized can cause a grounding problem.
