ODD ELECTRICAL PROBLEM

    I have an 82 xj550. The neutral indicator is stuck on most of the time. Sometimes it goes out and when it does the brake lights and turnsignals don't work. The taillight and headlight still stay on but the brake and turnsignals don't work. Any idea where my problem may be?

    Check inside the head light and make sure all your connectors are making good contact. Look for corrosion on the brass terminals inside the plastic plugs, Also check under the tank for your common ground screw. Make sure all of the ground wires are in good shape. Sounds like your getting some kind of feed back due to bad connections. Good Luck
