    Hi there, I'm wondering if there is anywhere special that stocks OEM parts for our bikes. In particular, I'm looking to replace my tach drive gear as it was not with the bike when I purchased it. Does anyone know of any shop that might carry one or have one they want to sell me? I don't know if the 650 and the 550 interchange (I have an '82 XJ550 Maxim.)

    A quick perusal of the Yamaha parts page shows the '82 550J and the '82 650RJ (Seca) use the same part number for the tach drive gear; hence, they do appear to be the same animal.
