If your harley isn't fast what do you tell people about it to distract them?

Hey gang, my 82 xj650 has an oil cooler on it, factory or not I don't know. I recently installed a four into one exhaust on the bike that left the oil cooler's rubber lines touching some of the headers. I zip tied them out of the way as best I could but one of them melted and burst on me while riding the other night. I got it shut down it time, the bike is fine. My question is, I want to replace the rubber hoses for the cooler with steel braided lines but I haven't been able to find anything along those lines. I really don't want to ditch the oil cooler for the exhaust but does anybody have any ideas? I replaced the rubber lines and have extra rubber hose split in have and wrapping the lines for now.

find a hydraulic shop in your area. They should be able to make up whatever kind of hose you'd need.

+1. Here in Colorado Springs, the local Whisler Bearing has a hydraulic shop. They can make all sorts of stainless steel, silicone, fiber reinforced, etc, hoses with custom fittings and whatever. Not cheap, but very nice.

For example, I recently priced a set of stainless brake lines from them. They'd be about $180 for the four pieces (Seca 750).

For brake lines talk to chacal.

For what you're looking for, look for a Pirtek jobber in the phone book and you'll be good to go.
