    Hi all.

Just done first oil and filter change on my 1997 xj 600n. I read up and filled 2.6 litres which is recommended. After leaving it overnight it appears theres no oil in inspection window. There are no leaks, any info would be great. Thanks,

Is your bike level? It can't be checked while the bike leaning over on the kickstand.

Another site to check out is xjrider.com. It's more specific to the seca2 or diversion model.

there is about 2.9 liters of oil in your bike , some of the oil remains in the transmission when you change the oil and filter that is why you add 2.6 liters with filter.
could be you were on a down hill when draining? and got all the oil out of the bike.

    this is for a 92 xj600

just add a little more oil about 30ml at a time untill it shows up in the proper range

clymer manual states 2.6 liters with filter change for your year but as I stated above there is more than that amount of oil in your bike just add a little at a time untill it is at the proper level in tthe sight glass

run the motor for a few min. then let sit check level again if the oil still continues to not show after riding you should start looking for why
