Does anyone know the crush washer size for the oil drain plug? Need to pick up a pack at the local hadware store before they close. I assume the part will be all the same, but if it matters mine is an 750 seca.

    Thanks,
    Fault

Darn, I want to change the oil without having to order a single washer. The shipping will be the majority of the price.

Chacal, wanna help out? You there!?

    Anyone else....

HCP1475 oil pan drain, final drive filler, and final drive drain bolt Crush Washer, fits all 550/650/700/750/900/1100 models; also is used for 1100 (only) middle gear drain bolt. Each:
$ 1.00 plus, let's say, $1.00 for shipping, regardless of quantity ordered (within reason).

Size is: aluminum, 13.8mm ID, 19mm OD, ~2mm thick. You can go up to about a 21mm OD, but the ID is a pretty tight fit against the bolt shaft, and I wouldn't go much bigger than 14mm.

Note that most "hardware" stores are NOT going to have "crush washers", which are really metal "gaskets". Use of a regular washer will almost guarantee an oil leak!

Is this crush washer made out of copper? I heat all my used copper washers to a dull red with a propane torch then air cool or quench (it doesn't matter with copper). This anneals or softens them so they easily crush again and make an excellent seal. After a few times they do become too thin to re-use but you should be able to get at least 2-3 uses out of a copper crush washer this way.

Aluminum, but a copper one would probably work just as well..........

I'm using a copper one I got at the corner auto parts store. They didn't have exactly what was needed, so I got one just slightly undersized and hit it with a rat tail file.

They are also available in nylon.
