My 750 Max has a 900 Oil Cooler Package.

You have to move the Stock Horns and use the captives for mounting the Cooler.

You can use the Braze-on Bushing Holder on the Max to "Help" mount the Top.
The Coolers Mounting Post will fit to that Braze-on where you can fit a Store-bought Mounting Bushing.
But, if you mount the 900's Cooler FLUSH up to the Braze-on Holdler ... the Pinch Bolts of the Lower Tripple Tree will smack the Top of the Cooler when the Bars are all the way-over left or right.

You need to LOWER the Cooler a couple of Private Hair Units.

    Make-up an "Extender Bushing".
Buy a long Nylon Bushing that the OD of the Coolers Top Center Mounting Post will fit into.

Put some Epoxy on the Threads of a Bolt ans start screwing it into the end of that long Bushing.

Cut the Head off the Bolt.
    Heat Shrink the Threads.
Run the Heat Shrinked Bolt up into the Braze-on on the Max
Measure how far down the Cooler needs to be from where the Braze-on is holding the top of the Bushing.

Cut the Bushing off there and run the Posot for the Cooler into the "Extension"

Yep, without that bolt you're dead in the water trying to use an original cooler system.

Of course, even though that special fitting bolt is discontinued from Yamaha, we do carry a correct reproduction of it, in stock, as well as the factory cooler adapter plates.

Some XJ650's have the oil cooler as well. My 650 has it and it is identical to the setup on my turbo.
