Can anyone tell me how to remove the old oil seal that goes around the output shaft behind the front sprocket? I can't find any thread that tells me how to remove it an reinstall the new seal and it is not covered in my service manual. Anyone have any tips?

The bike is an 83 Seca XJ550.

    Thanks,

I did just this at the weekend on one of my XJR's, and all i did was to push a flat head screwdriver between the seal and the shaft and prise the thing out.
I don't think you'll be able to reuse the seal, well i can't on my XJR anyway.
As for re-installation, i'm going to try and use a big socket drive.
Socket drive?? Is that the right term? Whatever, i mean a socket that goes onto the socket wrench.
