So I hooked my radiator fan to a battery charger and no go. I buy a "new" fan and same deal. I get suspicious and cut the connect off strip down the wires and connect them to the motorcycle battery. They both work fine. Now I have 2 good fans and a dilemma. Why isn't my fan working? Tried looking at the wire diagram from the owners manual and can't see any reference to the radiator fan anywhere. Obviously there's something wrong upstream of the fan but not sure what. Anyone know if there is a relay involved? Oh, I didn't mention but the fuse is fine. Not really interested in wiring in a switch either just to head that discussion off at the pass  I haven't taken the tank off and done the wire harness trace yet just hoping someone knew the deal.

Temperature switch? I don't know anything about liquid cooled bikes, but that would by my first guess. You should be able to jump the switch by sticking a wire across the leads in the plug. If that turns the fan on, seems your switch is faulty. This all assumes that there is a temperature switch.

The fan does NOT run until it gets pretty hot.
The gauge is about 3/4 of the way to H before it trips. Others have said they hit the "hot" zone before theirs will start running.

The ONLY time mine comes on is when I'm idling in the garage doing a little tuning and syncing.

I believe that the fan is supposed to "engage" at 205 deg F and will shut off again at 195.
There is a temp switch in the thermostat housing (the junction block where the two hoses from the head join with a larger hose to the top of radiator and the fill hose is also part of the intersection.
You can pull it off and put it in boiling water (with a multimeter attached) to see if it's switching or not.

Many X owners think the fan is faulty until they find out where it's supposed to kick in. Some have put in a manual switch, but unless you expect to hang out in 100 deg in a traffic jam, I wouldn't worry. It is good to know that the fan works when it is SUPPOSED to though, so I tested mine....and will probably never see it spin again :)
