I'm an old rider and did the upgrades. 50cc > 200cc > 400cc > 650cc Maxim > 1300cc Venture > 1360cc Harley. Then one day 70 yr old man ran the red light and broadsided me. Totaled the Harley and lost about 12 inches of my leg. I still had the Maxim and the Venture in the garage. Thirteen years and a couple prostetics later I have decided to put the Maxim back on the road. If everything works out, maybe I'll try working on the Venture. I'm 65 and looking for the sunshine.

Welcome to the clan Bob. Risk is involved in the sport we love, I'm glad it wasn't worse. I hear of these things all too often. I have a shipmate here at work who tempts fate each day riding and hour from Compton CA to Ventura CA (60 miles). He has been hit twice (dumped it once too) in the last year and continues to pick up the pieces and put it back on the road. I think he needs to learn SIPDE again. My most hearty praise to you for putting the rubber back on the road dispite this horrendous loss. Please do it with a quick trip through an MSF course just to get a refresher. I'd love to catch up with you some day!
