Hi all you gurus. I’m new to this forum be hope someone out there has the right answer. I need help regarding - and I haven’t forgiven myself yet - cleaning of Crome down pipe. Case is I was cleaning the bike and by stupidity dropped an oilrag onto the hot exhaust pipe ... witch led to a lot of french word in the garage. What is the best way to clean chrome?

I've used things like Turtle Wax Chrome polish and elbow grease to some success on stained pipes/chrome.

Likely any chrome safe polishing compound will work.

have to be careful how much you polish, that chrome isn't very thick and you can polish it right off.
if you heat a steel bolt and put oil on it, it will turn blue. the blue is in the steel, not on it. don't know if chrome is that way but be careful.
if you don't get quick results maybe just live with it

I used to own a Jap import CB400, it had a clear finger print blued into the chromed exhaust pipe. That finger print was still there after 10 years. Maybe the original owner borrowed money from the Yakuza & didn't keep up with his payments? Either way, someone learnt a lesson that day!
