I have purchased an XJ750K ('83). One of the minor problems is that the right mirror is missing the glass. I have the frame which seems to be in perfect working order, but no glass(mirror). Living in an industrious city there are plenty of glass/mirror shops. Do you think it would be possible for me to replace just the glass of the mirror vs the entire mirror assembly?

I am sorry if this is a simple question, but I haven't recieved my Haynes book yet as I just ordered it Monday (today being Wednesday of the same week).

    Thanks in advance.

That's what I would do, well actually I would cut one and glue it in myself!

I know there is a manufacturer of replacement units for cars, don't remember the name just now, but if they can do that, why not a bike?

Take the mirror frame off and head to a local car parts store like Napa or something. Maybe they got the right size mirror on a shelf? Aftermarket mirrors are fairly cheap so worst case scenario replacing the pair shouldn't be too expensive. Glass shop probably can do it but I'm guessing they will be fairly pricey.

I must appologize to those of you that answered. I found the answer to my problem. The bike was bought last week and I have been in a scramble to get it in tip-top condition.

The mirror is actually an aftermarket mirror. I did not know this until to saw a "Napoleon" brand on the mirror and googled it. I found that Napoleon is an aftermarket brand.

I do appreciate everyone helping me out with my non-issue. Please continue to help. I really love the responses and lack of delay.
