Hi there! My 81 seca has what seems to be the original muffler (4 into 1) but I find the noise excessive. I do not like people to turn heads when I pass by :p
I was wondering if this is really stock, may I ask someone with a stock muffler to take a photo with a flash to see inside it?
Is there any easy/affordable trick I make to keep it quieter?

    Thanks!

    Sergio

Welcome ...what Seca model do you have 650,750 ? Sounds like you have an aftermarket exhaust ...should be a 4 into 2 ... My Seca has a 4 into 2 MAC exhaust

it is a 650 with this muffler:

Looking inside, looks like it goes direct to the tubes that got to the engine..

Oh bummer, than this is not the stock muffler, so it must be a "loud is better" version... Can anything be done to silence it a bit?

Hard to tell from your picture, but if the muffler and head pipes are two pieces you may be able to fit a different muffler to it. Still wouldn't be stock but may be a quieter sound depending on what you can find for a muffler to put on it. I work at an exhaust shop so exhaust is kind of my thing haha

It is unfortunately one piece, from engine collector to end of muffler... i will try some stainless steel scrubs first... my neighbors are starting to complain while I am trying to colortune and balance it..

Throw it away and get a correct exhaust system. It will sound better (and quieter), and probably run better , too.
