I am all ready to paint minus actually having the paint. Original plan was to do a straight reddish burgundy across the whole bike but have been thinking of spicing it up a bit. Just wondering what others thought before I buy my paint.

I thought of it but I have never been impressed with silver paint. Also if I did silver I feel like I would want to remove the maxim symbols from the side covers, which i would rather not do.

#3 and #4 look nice and HD doesn't corner the color market, they just had good taste.

thanks to all who have posted and voted so far. I'm still car shopping trying to find the actual colors. No one seems to have the red I am looking for they are all way to light or purple.

Definitely number 3, picks up on the colours in the YICS emblem on the case, also flows back from the fork bag into the tail light, but maybe less geometric and more of a subtle flame design. If you can do it I think they call them Ghost flames/stripes, where the design is kinda under the black.

    That tank is awesomr

I originally thought of ghost flames but being my first "real" paint job I didn't want to get that complicated (i really do like them though). The flames just slapped on top like the scallops will be aren't really my style. The scallops are era appropriate relatively easy to paint and I like them. I am open to other designs and colors.

You can't go wrong with black and as my grandmother used to say "I like red....I don't care what color it is." Seriously, I really do like the red stripes on black.
