Gotta love those old Spitfires. I like the fender and the top of the tank, just not feeling the side. It doesn't seem to flow with the shape of the tank, maybe reshape the silver background a bit.

Yeah that is the part I am having trouble with while I love the shape of the tank it is hard to match the lines. And 613 is the Mitzvot "laws of the Torah"

nice I like that. This will be my first muti color paint job. Does anyone know how long I should let the first color dry before taping for the second.

    Thanks,

After looking at it a few times, i think you should go with a thicker black line on the side of the tank... to follow on the thick line theme you have everywhere's else...

    but that's my .02 cents...

I don't think the 613 should be in a circle.. Looks odd to introduce a new shape, Personally I like something like the below.

Is this for a Seca tank? (i.e., hence the bow up on the bottom of the tank?)

Thanks. I used the font "norton" for the numbers. It's supposed to be the same one you get on Norton bikes, I just love the old school look it gives. You should be able to mask off the numbers and then spray on the grey (or maybe you should consider some chrome paint?) and then peel off the tape while it's still a little wet (otherwise you get big patches peeling off) then when it's dry use a thin lining brush to outline the edges in black.

When taping over previosly painted areas, wait at least 24 hours. 72hoirs is ideal, even if it's hot where you are.

... not to contradict Swissjon (but I'm gonna..kinda) it depends on what kind of paint you're shooting. Rattle cans? Yes, then I would agree with swissjon. If you're using a gun and shooting 2-part (paint then clear coat) you shouldn't have to wait more than 1/2 - 1 hour...depending on humidity levels and temperature...

I know this sounds silly, but whatever paint, method, or delivery system that you are using, you should always FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS that the manufacturer of the paint recommends.........different types of paints (lacquer, urethane, epoxy, etc.) have different flash, re-coat, and drying/curing times associated with them.....

Lol. If we didn't all tell what we know then this site would be empty. I'm an amateur and only use rattle cans because I've no idea where to find the other kind over here, contradict me all you like :)

+2 on the paint info ;)

Use a very sharp blade to lightly cut the tape free from the paint to stop it peeling back whn you take the tape off.
Shoot a test on a piece of paint that is out of sight(ie under tank), to make sure paint is compatible with the existing paint...acyrylics do not sit well on enamels and even some other acrylics.
