I dont much like chrome or shiny stuff. The XJ700 I just got has the chrome plating missing on the left side of the bike and the PO tried and failed to shine it up, now its stained with swirls of Mothers polish.

I want to paint all of the covers black, what would you suggest for a good paint? I like a semi rough surface that is heat resistant and would resist chipping.
