Overall this bike was in excellent condition, unfortunately a this past summer ago it appears that the cam chain jumped resulting in 4 bent valves. Go HERE for the details on what happened. The engine is still in the bike right now (cyl head removed).

    FINAL EDIT April, 2011:

    BUMP and update:

I'm all but giving these last items away...make me an offer. Also I still have the unbent frame with a valid title if anyone is withing driving distance of Morganton NC.

    Handlebars and hardware
    Aluminum side rails (both)
    Triangle shaped aluminum brackets (both)
    Front fender (GREAT condition)
    Rear fender
    Both wheels and tires
Front brake calipers and hoses (caliper bolts gone)
    Forks and triple trees
    Header pipes (fair condition)
Starter relay (purchased new from Yamaha 3 years ago)
    Storage box under/behind seat
    Side and center stands
Air filter box and intake box
    Rear shocks
Right main peg and both passenger pegs
    Throttle cable
    Choke cable
MOST of the main wiring harness...some things missing or bypassed by prev owners
Air filter box and air box
Drivetrain: shaft, pumpkin etc.(clutch assembly and cable are gone tho)

That's the main stuff. Feel free to email me about anything else, but the major items not listed here are already gone or spoken for: tank, seat, carbs, inst cluster, lights, switchgear and rear brake assembly.

    Thanks again guys.

    Tim

If you are interested in a specific part, PM me.

    Thanks for having a look.

    Hi Wesley,

I'm just beginning this process and the first step is to offer the complete bike. After August 14, I'll begin dismantling for separate parts if the bike hasn't sold by then. Frankly, I don't have any individual prices in mind just yet (not to mention shipping), but I will shortly.

Next week I'll begin taking detailed pics of individual parts and by then I'll have a price in mind. For now, you're first in line for the tank assuming it's available and we agree on the price. I'll PM you when I decide on that and/or have close up pics.

    Thanks,

    Tim

How far are you from Cape Hatteras? I'll be around the 16th to the 20th down there and might pick some pieces up if possible. Thanks!

It's about 450 miles from Morganton to Cape Hatteras. Morganton is in western NC.

Sorry for the slow response guys. Just got in from a trip and I finally got a few days off now. I'm making a list of who wants what and deciding prices etc. I'll be sending price info to those who have expressed interest here.

I'm also considering dismantling the bike sooner then the 15th as there has been no interest in the whole bike thusfar. More will be posted about all this today and tomorrow.

    Bump and update

Well there hasn't been any interest in the complete bike, so I'll begin dis-assembling this weekend. Those of you who have expressed an interest in certain parts have been PM'd and now have a price. Tentatively (meaning no money is in my hands as yet), the following parts are are spoken for:
    Windshield
    Carb rack
    Instrument cluster
    Tank
    Ignitor box
    Tail pipes
    Intake manifolds
    Brake calipers
    Seat
    Original petcock

Pleases note that these items are NOT sold yet, but I have "reserved" them for a time. PM me if you're interested just in case these items DO become available for some reason.
