Bought a storage unit at auction that had two complete seca 750's. The manufacture dates for them are 3/81 and 6/81 so I assume they are 81's but may be 82's? I have no idea of the history on them as fas as mechanical condition so will be parting them out.
I picked up lots of small, medium, and large flat rate priority mail boxes so anything that fits in those boxes will be easy to figure shipping on.
I am giving you guys first shot at anything you can use then everything else will start going on ebay tomorrow afternoon. So save me some fees and I will save you some money. Just let me know what you need and I can email pics. Thank you

    Smells of a scam

No history on here and no way to follow up for unhappy purchases.

Certainly not a scam but I would be cautious too. I did what most people would do with two XJ750's. Googled it. I found this site and figured I would try to off load some of it here first. If you are concerned though everything will start getting listed tomorrow evening on ebay and you can just buy there. User name is oldsalmonplugs. Its all going to fund my current cb750 project. Thanks

Shane......I know you're new here--- let me educate you on something.

We are here to help each other keep our bikes running, get them running, better, rebuild them, improve them, restore them, etc......for far less than what it would otherwise cost us to either buy new parts/replacement parts at either dealers, or other high-cost places.

We do this to help each other keep costs as far down as humanly possible. NOBODY here is going to pay what we feel are high prices, except for the cases of the few parts that we all know to be what we refer to as "unobtanium". In those few instances, it may not matter what the price is since it's probably gonna sell to the first person that can get their hands on it.

If you are trying to get top dollar, you're going to have to go to ebay. You WON'T sell items here that way.

Actually, many of the sales between members of this site are close to give-away prices. For that matter, there are many times where items are literally GIVEN away.

Last, you're not going to high prices for obviously used prices......especially on parts that are iffy to begin with.

For example-- Rotors. The only way you'd be able to get a high sale here is if you can guarantee that they are like new, can guarantee that they are not warped at all, and have plenty of other sales with members of this group that can back you up/recommend you as as seller. If you do sell a lot on ebay, then you should be able to do a search on 'completed items' and find out what items have actually sold for, and really how many of few of them to get a better idea on the overall ebay availability and sales. If you looked at the xj750 rotors you'll see that there are a lot of high prices, but if you do a 'completed' check, you'll see that very few of them actually sold at those prices. That tells us that overall, those prices are way to high to begin with.

You can put whatever prices you want on things, I'm not dictating anything to you, but rest assured that we know where prices should be. Again, we won't pay premium prices but we don't rip each other off with offers either (and naturally, if we feel someone's offer is low, we talk it out if we can.....and yes, there are offers that don't go through, either) since we're trying to help each other here.

That's not to make it sound like we're trying to be exclusive, but we are pretty protective of each other. We have had experiences with people in the past that come on here with "lots of stuff to sell" and end up just selling a bag of ^%$#. They also end up on a 'blocked' list.

So, just a few thoughts for you to digest..........

    All the best,

    Dave

I understand. The way I look at it I was doing us both a favor by listing them here before ebay fees got involved. I didn't get the bikes for free and I can be expected to give it away for less than half the going price (the rotors). If I could figure out how to I would delete my posting and get out of your guys hair. Thank you anyway

No probl....... we understand you didn't get the bikes for free, and we have no problem with that. But please understand that many of us here WILL sell things/trade things/give things to each other at prices often substantially less than ebay, even though we might get a better sale over there. It's not that we don't trust you, or ebay, or anything else for that matter. It's more a 'we're here to help each other, and in many many cases, good friendships have developed whether personally or just via being a long-term member here.

So,I'll wish you good luck on your ebay sales, and maybe some of us will find you there. No need to delete your post, there's always the search engine that may direct someone to you in the future when they need a part.

100% correct and good method, but I just wanted to add a little. Just because an items shows as sold for a certain price under completed listings does not mean it sold for that price. Example: The other day I sold a tank for $65 from a "best offer". The original price was $90. It still shows that it sold for $90 under completed listings, but it actually sold for less. Unless you click on the item and then it shows what it sold for.

P.S - sure am glad I came with recommendations...yikes lol. I got it too shane.

LETitRIDEparts you had a better eye on the subject to back you up, and you did not come in with the buy my parts now, or pay more on ebay attitude.

The OP has his parts listed on ebay as fitting on everything from 650-900. Which is deffinately not the case. He came in here trying to play the ebay game only to show his lack of experience at selling parts.

You also need to remember that just because something is listed on ebay. It does not mean that it is guaranteed to sell at all. No matter what the price is.

Are you referring to me as the "op"? When and where did I ever say anything about anything fitting a 650-900? Better get your facts straight. I certainly didnt come in here with an "attitude"
