Looking for suggestions before I tear down the petcock for the 3rd time.

First 2 times I was trying to stop a slow leak when on "ON".

Using the awesome write up through the this link I solved that.
    http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=2 ... build.html

Now I'm not getting gas when on "ON" and bike is running. Confirmed this by starting on prime then switching to "ON" and allowing the bike to eventually stall (~5m on idle).

I have a feeling I over extended the spring and now the vacuum can't overcome it. Plausible?

Pull the vac hose from the manifold and suck on it 8O How hard is it to get fuel flowing, if at all?

May not be the help you're looking for, but I simply replaced mine with an on-off-res petcock. Solved all my problems.

    Face palm...

    Tried the suck test...no go.

    Switched to reserve...all good.

I'm thinking filling the tank up might help.

I had a similar problem with my petcock, but even with a full tank it still wouldn't flow from ON, but RES and PRI worked fine. I rebuilt the petcock last week and found a ton of gunk on the vacuum diaphragm, like it was caked on. I'm guessing it just inhibited movement of the diaphragm somehow, but I'll be testing it in the next couple weeks.
