So I am working on a 85 xj700. The petcock was spraying fuel out at the diaphragms, so we decided to get a K&L kit. I cleaned the petcock up like new, followed the Fitz directions, and put it all back together. Fuel started leaking from the elbowed fuel supply line (posted another topic about that), but its also dumping fuel continuously whether its "on", "res", or "prime."

So, I assume the K&L diaphragm isn't great (not to mention the spring base plate on the diaphragm came bent). Would getting an oem diaphragm make this better?

Finally. Is there a on/off petcock that mounts up directly without tank modification on the xj700?

    Thank you!!

Sometimes the petcocks are so far gone that just need a complete replacement. Why the two threads?
