Went on a road-trip today. Sis and law and i drove about 4 hrs. up to Virginia.

Picked up a SWEET XJ650 Maxim, and rode it back home. It didn't miss a beat, and I didn't baby it. It's the first time I've ridden one, and I love how light and manueverble it feels.

Last part of the ride had some nice "semi-twisties", and it felt great. Hard to believe it's just a 650.

I think my GS1100G is gonna be jealous this summer!

Thanks for the welcome and the remarks.

I remember my brother having an XS850 back in the late 80's. He got into some gravel in a turn and lost it. As far as I know, he's never been back on a bike.

Anyway, I'm loving this XJ650. I even took my son for a few spins around the yard today in his mom's (my ex) old helmet and jacket. He was loving it!

    Later!

    Welcome aboard.

I just got a "new" '82 XJ650 Seca a few weeks ago and I've been enjoying it ever since! Hard to believe this bike is almost thirty years old. My first shaftie too - and I don't miss the chain one bit.

    Cheers,
    Lucky

I know what you mean, my 650 doesn't feel like a 650 either. It pulls real good, especially if you're not afraid to tach it out a bit.
