I understand the the 'T" mark & the " |_| " mark on the reluctor. They are used for Top Dead Center & timing....

However, I noticed that there is a mark on the reluctor "C". What is that for ?

    Just curious.

I also noticed that the plate behind the reluctor & the reluctor itself has a stamping on it "5G2-10" which is the same as the marking on the IC Ignitor. So when replacing IC Ignitor, I would assume one needs to replace with like kind. Is that correct ? I know other ignitors may work but will make the bike run a little differently ??

    Thanks in advance.

The "C" mark is for adjusting the can chain tensioner. Aligin the "C" mark with the pionter then loosen the holding screw on the tensioner. That will let the spring push the tensioner out to tighten the chain then re-tighten the screw.

Just an addendum, when when adjusting the cam chain tensioner, you turn the motor forward a couple of times, then reverse to the 'C' mark.
