Hopefully, this pic, though tiny, will get posted. I did open a photobucket account tonight, but have yet to figure out the whole cut and paste thing. I am not a techie !! This is my fourth Seca750, going all the way back to 1982. This bike I am very lucky to get, as its a beauty and has only 7550 miles from new !!! Its the final year 1983 touring edition.

Very nice ! That looks like a good find.
    I have fairing envy.

My Seca is red. I have the sport fairing that mounts to forks, although no longer installed. I also cracked the wind screen removing it during a trip. I had gotten a new helmet and the noise of air from top of the wind screen was unbearable with the new helmet.

Thanks McDee, I am very happy to have found this bike. Totally original in every way and zero rust anywhere. No parts missing, which is very rare and no oxidization of the Instrument panel or black rubber handlebars. barely a scratch on the bike, and the chrome is perfect. I will have to do some minor paint touch ups on the motor, which was painted all black for 1983. Thats no biggie for me, as I am a housepainter by trade, and have had to do the same for my FJ1200. The bike runs perfect in every way. I will be keeping this one for a very long time !!!!!!

Which still doesn't mean the back brake might not be delaminating.

CHECK YOUR REAR BRAKE SHOES for DELAMINATION!!! It would be a shame to crash that beauty.

Also, get after the valves right away. With that few miles they've probably not been touched; my '83 had 7100 miles when I got it, also untouched, and 7 of 8 were in real need.

Thanks for the advice, but I think I am all set. The bike came fully serviced and maintained. No weird engine sounds, ticking, clattering, leaks etc.......Runs smooth as butter. Previous owner ran the bike every week and was careful about maintainence. I will double check the back brake, as I never use them, just in case there is a problem. One thing I always wished the Seca had was decent front brakes. They are awful by modern standards, and are way weaker and more wooden than even my `86 FJ1200. I put it down to the remote resevoir, a case of style winning out over function. I have tried braided lines and different pads on previous Secas I have owned without much success.

Beautiful find, man! That would give my 900 some competition at a show :) Take a look at my red 900 seca in my gallery (received a trophy in June). Can you imagine these sitting next to each other? :) Level of condition and detail are same as yours. This is my "gonna keep for a very long time" bike.

Dave, I appreciate the kind words. Yeah, sounds like they would make a perfect twosome !!!! I will check out your gallery for sure. I got to get a few pics of this bike uploaded, to do it justice. I had no problems doing that with my last seca about 3years ago, so I will try again this week. Like yourself dave, I am hoping to keep this special bike for a very long time indeed. It only needs a few very minor touch ups with paint on the motor to make it perfect, and maybe replace a bolt or two that have oxididized. There is a very small scuff on the side of the seat, and a few other very hard to even notice wear marks on the bike, but you have to really picky to spot them. The bike was ridden and enjoyed and not in a glass box in a museum, so I am fine with that. I want to ride and enjoy this bike, not just put it on my mantlepiece !!! regards Dave Marshall
