Finally got round to posting some pictures. No sniggering, I got the bike for nothing ok ?

Question - I see on ebay a couple of oil coolers for sale, not all with the distributors. Should I hold out for a complete kit ? Are those distributors hard to find ? What else should I be aware of re hardware ?

    Thanks

Uhhh where are your 'new' photos?
IF you can wait a while I have an oil cooler assly (complete) from a '89 FJ 600.. Minor dent/bend in cooler top but it's OK/useable.. decent to cheap price.. Once I finish assembling my motor.. as it's redundant.Might fit your bike. Do you have the Large Finned Oil Filter cover at the bottom front of the engine? IF so, it will fit.

Really? looks like it has Mad Max armour on it.. which seemingly didn't stop debris from damaging the fins.

    Uh Oh. A Youngster.

If you look at the picture closely you will see that the fins on the cooler (seen through the slots in the cover plate) are bent.

Unfortunately not so young  I was confused by HooNz use of 'stock', so thought Dan was referring to something I captioned in my pics.

I would have thought that kind of damage to be unusual in the normal course of riding though ? I used to own a '75 Trident with the ugliest damn cooler you ever saw - never suffered any damage like that though.
