I have taken out the old covers on my bike to take out the pilot jets. Now that everything is clean, should I be replacing those covers? I have brand new ones that came with my carb rebuild kits, but with all the articles written about tuning carbs, etc., is it really a good idea to put metal covers back over them? If not, then how do you keep them clean, un-rusty, etc.?

    Don't use the Plugs.
They are a Pain in the Azz to remove.

Just put a drop or two a Bathtub Caulk in there.
That will cure and be water and dust tight.

It will also be sooooo easy to remove!
Plucks out of there and leaves nothing behind.

yeah, my off road machines have open adjusment screws and nothing ever effects them- and even my 86'trx200sx quads carb adjustment screws look perfect after years of abuse in mud
