the inside of my cylinders are black as well as the piston heads, i can see this by looking through the plug hole. as well the valves as they come into the cylinder are dirty.

is there anyway that i can just clean them up to increase compression with out doing a ring/valve job?

Not really cause carbon buildup actually increases comp, doesn't decrease it.. i wonder if you have checked the comp and if so what were your readings? does the motor burn oil?

depending on the compression tester.... one says 110-115 across the board and the other is saying 120-125 across the board.... i just was thinking a clean engin is a better engine

have you checked the valve adjustment? tight valves will leak compression.

the carbon on top of the pistons will always be there, dont waste your time cleaning it.

I'm afraid I don't understand why you feel there is a compression issue when they all test quite decent...how many miles are on the bike and what is the actual problem you are experiencing? Not to belittle your efforts, but in 43+ years of working on motorcycles I have never once decided I had a problem by looking in the spark plug hole. Pulling a plug for a "read" yes, by all means.
