    Guys,

I reassembled the calipers today and when it came time to lube up the seal and channel and get the pistons back in, I was able to line it up and just push it in really easily by hand (the caliper halves were split because I replaced the fluid transfer seals, too).

Is that normal or is something amiss? Perhaps the seals are the wrong size? I doubt that, though, they came from Chacal. Maybe because the halves were split the air behind the piston had an easy escape and just slid right in? I'm concerned that when I refill the system, the damn things will start leaking again.

    Thoughts?

PS: I really appreciate all the help I've gotten from the members so far. This brake project has been a nightmare that would have gone on much longer without y'all's expertise.

An exceptionally well-cleaned and lubed Caliper Piston will slide back in with very little pressure.
Particularly, if the Caliper's Bleeder and Banjo Bolt are out.

All bets are off, though, if you separated the Caliper halves and created a leak at the mating surfaces.
