Sometimes when I lock my forks the brake light stays on. Does anyone have an idea on how to trouble shoot this?

    Thanks

someone correct me if i'm wrong but i beleive that's the way things are supposed to be.

it keeps people from try ing to roll the bike away and the light being a safety feature if your parked out on the road. specially at night.

i think there's 3 positions. on/off/park. i don't have my maxim anymore so others would have to chime in. i think i only had 3 but the previous owner replaced the ignition with something a little more funky. instead of having a normal key. it had one of them round keys that sodapop machines use.

There are TWO "lock" positions; the best practice is to turn it all the way to "P" then come back to the "lock" position. That way you don't miss the mark and leave it in "park."

If the light is coming on in "lock" then you need to pull the switch/lock assembly apart and figure out what's amiss.
