I would like to know how to post pictures when you are only allowed 2 gigs? every picture I have is like 2.5+. Sounds like a simple fix yet it is frustrating not being able to post the pics of my maxim x

2.5 GIG each? Wowzers, that's a big file. 2.5meg is also pretty big, but doable.

Personally, I resize my pix down to 800 x 600 so they don't push the forum out and make people scroll sideways to see text.

Then, I put the pix on my server space and post the link here. Many people use photobucket or some similar program to host their pictures.

For a free picture editor, that will size images down to whatever size, I suggest paint.net. Free and quite capable photo editor.

I would also state that taking pictures on a digital camera at the highest setting only makes for enormous files, not any better quality. The quality is set by the fine/super fine setting, to which I even doubt there's much difference. I always set my digi cam to 1600 x 1200 for all my normal usage. It makes easily handled files ( usually around 100 - 200k), that also look very nice. Having a file at 3258 x 2480 or whatever resolution is just making for pix that are 20 inches wide when shown in normal usage. Smaller res pictures also write quicker, so you don't have to wait as long.

    ymmv, imo, etc.

he must mean 2MB, as theres no way a picture could be 2.5GB, let alone this site allowing us have 2GB of storage, lol

Anyway, IMO, the easiest is to just sign up for an account on imageshack, photobucket, or any of the similar image hosting sites, and then just copy and paste the code into your post reply.

Then the picture shows up automatically in your post, as well as then you dont have to worry about staying under the 2.5mb limit for the site's hosting, as unless your pictures are tiny, that can be used up real quick.

This is then how the picture will appear in your post:
