    Yep. 20 Valves!

Put an X-Bike on the hairy-edge of fine tuning and you can stop for the light, swing your side-stand down, killing it, ...
    get the strange looks ...
watch the lights ... get ready to launch ...
    push-in the Start button ...
get the green ... flick the side-stand up ...
    wrist it ...
and be waiting for Mr. Rum-rum-rum to join you at the next light.

3000, he'll probably let it go for 2,800.

Bike looks in good shape, someone lesser-known to the ways of the XJ and not aware of the required work needed will likely pay that. The notoriety that Rick mentioned, and a bunch of fellers with good oil patch money should be enough to get that bike a new home in no time.

Unfortunately people seem to want stupid amounts of money for used bikes in Alberta. Not sure why they think they are worth more in this province than the rest of the country. Just seen an ad on Calgary Kijiji for a 1978 Honda CB400T "cafe racer" for $2500. The only thing cafe racer about it is the handlebars, the thing isn't even painted just in primer.

I figured the price was a tad high. Does anyone know what these bikes sold for new. couldn't have been much more.

Yea too high. Battery is 1-2 years old??? well is it 1 or 2? And funny that he's calling it a 'starter' bike!

$2200 tops and that is if it's in really great shape, the mileage keeps it from going higher. But the Max X was the best tech in it's day so they can be sought after. Not sure about O price but would guess around $2800.

Relatively low miles 19000 miles. And it is a 750 not 700 but price is still a little steep. Guess it depends on how badly you want the more sought after 750 vs 700. I would love to have it for my collection of rare rides in the usa but personally tops i would pay would be 2k if it was pristine.

I don't think that sounds unreasonable. I wouldn't pay it, but that bike looks pristine. The people that look for pristine bikes are willing to pay a premium to get it.
