I am at the point where I was ready to running sync the carbs. Valves in spec, carbs went to church. Bench synced with method of this site. When I started I had the bottles hooked up to 1-2. The bottles like collapsed. Both of the at the same time. The bike runs pretty good it just has a little uneven idle. Could this be a bad bench sync

Use better bottles. Most water bottles are too thin; some soda bottles are OK; glass bottles work best.

use glass bottles. any bottle made from plastic that can flex will affect your setup, if the bottle flexes the fluid isn't going to flow properly for an accurate reading.

I used glass baby bottles (set of 3 at Wal-mart for $5) because they have graduations on them. Makes it easier to see changes in the ATF level while one hand is on the screwdriver.

That brings up another question does it matter what fluid you use. I seen people use water 2 stroke oil atf is any more accurate than others

they're all equally accurate. only fill the bottles 1/3 full, that way one bottle can never fill up and suck liquid.
i use water if some should get sucked in, it just turns to steam and is gone. oil might foul a plug, make a lot of smoke, make a mess on the floor and you can't just toss it in the driveway when your done

Water (if sucked in fast enough) will bend a con rod (though it is only a slight risk given the size of tubing being used).
