I recently cleaned my carbs to a T and put them back on the bike. After starting and running a bit, every once in awhile a "pssst" noise will come out of the carb/airbox area, not sure where exactly, then when i take off the seat, it makes tiny backfire noises from the vent on the rear part of the airbox, the air filter is properly installed and brand new, the hoses going out of the airbox are clear, the boots are installed correctly and tight, and it is getting plenty of fuel, any one ever have similar problems??

    Do a test.

Take your Propane Torch -- DON'T Light it -- but, turn it on and let the gas flow on to all the external manifold and boots surfaces around the carbs while the bike is idling.

If you probe an area with the gas and the idle spikes-up suddenly ... you found an air leak that you'll have to isolate and fix.

If the torch lights ... the bike's haunted and it's trying to talk to you! : )
