Has anybody used Pyramid Parts before for any of the following:

    - Front / Rear Wheel Bearings
    - Tapered Steering head bearings + Seals
    - Fork Seals / Dust Seals

I am also looking at replacing the swingarm bearings while everything is in pieces... Anyone used the AllBalls kit? I have seen many bad reviews when it comes to there parts.

I just used Pyramid wipers and seals for my daughter's Seca about 2 weeks ago. They are leaking already. I have done at least 20 sets of fork seals in my riding career on street and dirt bikes and have never had any leak right out of the gate.

At about the same time, my son replaced the leaky seals on his XS1100 with Pyramid parts. His leak as well. It is not his first set of seals either, and everything went by the book. These are the first ones that he's ever had leak right off.

For what it's worth, I am trying to stay away from Pryamid, at least for seals.

DuoDS - Thankyou that's exactly the type of feedback I'm after. I had my concerns about the fork seals as I couldn't find any reviews on there products.

adrian1 - Yea everyone says go to Len for parts. I have dealt with him and he seems very clued up, has everything I need and is very quick to get back to you with the exact info you need but there are a few issues for me living in New Zealand.

    1. Customs here charge an extra 15% GST (Goods and Services Tax) on any items (Shipping incl) over $60 NZD which is roughly $45 USD

    2. Customs also charge an extra duty fee on some items.

    3. Shipping to New Zealand is not cheap.

I will be ordering some parts through XJ4Ever but if I can find some stuff closer to home I would rather do that. Pyramid Parts have branches worldwide including NZ so I thought they were worth a look.

I take your point! Fork seals should be available over there...contact some of your countrymen on this site. A trip to your local bearing shop is also sometimes a good move...

Just an update on the brand new Pyramid fork seals I had to replace.

I pulled the forks apart again and examined the the Pyramid fork seals, which were different than the Parts Unlimited replacements. The Pyramid seal design uses a triple inner lip setup, but the inner lips are all very small and are made of very hard rubber, it almost felt like plastic instead of rubber.

The Parts unlimited seals use a dual lip design, and it was easy to see that the lips were bigger and made of fairly soft rubber.

I'm not sure if this is why the Pyramid seals leaked, but my inner fork tubes are in excellent condition and are straight. One Pyramid seal self-destructed on removal, but the second one came out clean. It seemed to still be in like-new condition.

This is just my experience, but I thought maybe someone could use this information. We'll see how the Parts Unlimited fork seals hold up.
