I've finally started to work on my '82 750 again. Cleaning the carbs and following The Old School Method by Mr.Massey.

Got to the siphon tube of the first carb, sprayed sea-foam into the top (it seems like a safer option than carb-cleaner, and seems to be doing a bang-up job), and the cleaner is coming out of the base of the tube. Is this normal? I thought it would have exited to the port next to it, but no dice. I'm just wondering if it's OK or if I've hooped the whole thing already. Thanks for your help.

The "Siphon Tube" is a Fuel Bowl element.
    Generally, non-removable.
Extends from the base of the Carb Body down INTO the Enrichment Reservoir in the Fuel Bowl itself.

The central "MAIN NOZZLE" ... (commonly called Emulsion Tube in our Forum) ... is the removable element, held in place by the Main Jet & Washer.

The NOZZLE has numerous Air Orifices drilled through the body. These Air Orifices need cleaning when the Nozzle is removed.

I don't think I'm explaining myself well. Let me get a picture.

The little brass tube I put arrows around is the siphon tube, right?

I spray down where the blue arrow points. The cleaner escapes around the base, where the pink arrow points.

    That's a Siphon Tube.

There are two real good ways of cleaning and flushing the Siphon Tube.

    1) Affix a section of Shrink-wrap to the end of a Carb Cleaner Red Tube leaving an "Un-shrunk" length as long as the Siphon Tube.
    Power Flush.

    2) Slip the narrow nozzle portion of a Bubble Syringe over the Tube after drawing Carb Cleaner into the bubble.
