I don't personally know a lot of other people who ride, so I'll ask here. I have a fairing with a windshield. I wear a full-face helmet. I wear a jacket and gloves. I hear and see bugs bounce off of my noggin, face shield, arms, etc. Not all the time, but almost every time I take a ride. This past weekend, I opened my sheild for a bit, and WHAM, straight into my cheekbone. It hurt from the impact, but also felt like it had a stinger because it burned and then stayed slightly puffy under my eye for 2 days. If you have no windshield, no helmet/face shield, and ride in a t-shirt, you have to be getting hit hard and often. You can call me a wimp, but that would take the fun out of it for me. What's your take on this?

You can always tell a happy biker from the bugs in his teeth.

Seriously, I have windshield because I don't like being pushed around by the wind. I wear FF helmet, jacket and gloves because I've hit the pavement and can't say I enjoyed it.
And besides, all that stuff keeps the bugs off me.

    Ride safe, Ride long.

that's why i wear a full face helmet, jacket and gloves and boots. I want riding pants as soon as i get the cash....

I don't even really like the wind in my face either. I have some issues with my eyes and it makes it hard to see.

Whoa!!! I'm glad I was wearing a full face when I had my accident or I could have looked like that. Being black and blue is a lot better than having your chin scraped off.

While riding this weekend I saw alot of fence made from barb wire, just 6-8 feet from the road, and with the slight ditch - you'd end up flipping head-long into it. At any speed leaving the road.

What kind of gear would protect you from that ??

CE armor and race leather might help, better than the alternative...

We have wire barriers here between freeway directions because we were having too many vehicles leaving the road and into on coming traffic at 70 mph . They bank the grass median just so to stop even trucks and trailers from crossing into on coming traffic . They work well . For cars . I personally don't ride on the freeway but i would choose another lane if i did .
