    Hi all.
Quick update on te XJ900. Loom is in and all connected. I have had the engine turning over and there are sparks at all the plugs (not sure whether they are good enough yet). I am thinking of taking the carbs off next and giving them a good clean.
Does anyone know where I can pick up a cheap cover for the seat? In the UK preferably.

I've learned on many of my maxims, that if the bike runs, put some sea foam in the carbs and go, unless there is an issue. I had one maxim xj750 that ran like a champ then I messed with the carbs and no matter how many times I took them off and cleaned them (even at the shop I worked at) I could never get her to idle right again. I wouldn't mess with it if it isn't broken. OR you could do as some do...

'if it ain't broke, fix it till it is'

The bike isn't running at the moment. The PO gave me the bike after it was parked up under a tarpaulin in his garden for 2 1/2 Years. The last time it ran he tells me it backfired, stalled and wouldn't start. It has not run since. The wiring was in a mess (hence the new loom) It is going to be a process of elimination to find the original problem. Another possible problem is, it has a XJ900 Frame (31A) but I think a 750cc Engine (29R).
