I'm asking this here because the FJ is an XJ in Europe, so...

I'm told you can change the top triple tree on the FJ and use a Radian triple and get handlebar risers. This gives you the ability to run bars other than the low, unadjustable stock bars.

Anyone ever done this? Are the steering stem bearings the same? Any unseen issues? Pics?

Hey Scott-s, I haven't done that as of yet myself but I am sure thinking that direction. I have an 81'XJ 750 SecaR. I have thought for some time that I would like to rake that front wheel out a bit further as a modification among others. It seems that everyone is always modifying the Maxims into Bobbies while it seems that there should be a way to modify the XJ750Seca to look pretty cool also. If what your saying is true that might really open up some doors to modifications to the XJ Seca's. Good to hear your imput, now you have me thinking about raking my front end and changing the entire appearance of my bike. Keep up the good imput. grunt007, 81'XJ750 SecaR, Mi.

I'm willing to bet it might be a direct bolt up. The Radian used the same frame as the 550 Maxim; if the 550 frame and the FJ600 frame had the same steering neck, which is a good possibility, then you're good to go.

Bringing this one back up.....I think the GirlFriend is about ready to give this a shot.
Any clue if the bearings, etc are the same?
