Got to take my daughter on ~50 mile ride Sunday around Jordan lake area; windy but we had a great time.

Bill, went to TechShop Friday. Looks like it will be a great place when they get everything done. I would say they opened about a month to early. Certain areas were well setup like the sewing, sheet metal, and welding areas. The paint room was just an empty room with a powder coating gun still in the box, no exhaust, and the oven is on its way.

All in all I believe it will be a great place when it’s complete.

P.S. sandblaster is table top, not big enough for a frame :(

Ahh, next time I will post with more time in advance. I went to Louisburg with a couple of friends this afternoon. A bit nippy. I should have worn my wind deflector. Other than that and my allergies. I had a blast and it sure was a beautiful day out today. :)

    Hey Guys,

I hate to do it but I Must. I am selling my 82 XJ1100J. I figured I would let the local guys know first but by Thursday it will be on Craigslist. PM me if you are interested.

    82 XJ1100J, ~23.5K, good tires (~1K miles)
I paid $1200, replaced the tank, fixed the fuse box, and spent a lot of time polishing. So I need to get $1200 out of it.

I love my XJ but I bought a 07 FZ1N and can't afford to keep both.

Has anyone heard about the rider saftey class on May2? I have not . There is a benefit ride the same day in Sanford for the daughter of a co-worker. I am thinking of going to the ride since I have not heard back from Wake Tech.

I will send an emal to the coordinator at Wake Tech tomorrow and post her response here when she replies regarding the 5/2 class. She's usually pretty quick to respond.

On the Tank Museum...that's a Saturday 4/25 adventure I want to go on initiated by two of my motorcycle riding co-workers. The tank museum is having its annual extravaganza this weekend (see the link here: www.aaftankmuseum.com, Danville Va, about 1.75 hours away). This is one of those open "the more the merrier" things. However, I've frankly been so overwhelmed at work I've neglected to post it here because all three of us are on a hour by hour availability this week at work which could roll into this weekend. As things go well with our plant startup we can be available. If not...then we'll have to re-schedule.

But, the annual extravaganza seems the weekend to go so don't wait on us if you think it would be fun. We'll go if we can or we'll leave when we can and meet you there.

Per an email I received this morning from Wake Tech (for those of you who registered), the ERC class at Wake Tech on 5/2 is a go. You should receive an email reminder from Wake Tech next week regarding the class.

    Tank Museum Trip:

Hey Raleigh XJ Riders...you missed a great trip!
bill and I and two other non-XJ riders went Saturday to Danville Va
to the Tank Museum's annual extravaganza.
The weather was almost as hot as the flame thrower
demonstration which vaporized a manikin. Oh, and it
was cool to see the huge Patton tank crush a car flat.

I learned that a vintage Tommy Gun can run through
50 rounds in less than 10 seconds. The British Sten Gun
demo was also an interesting site.

As I said the ride was hot and you had to keep moving
but it was worth being on the road.

For those of you signed up for the ERC class...see you at
    0800 sharp this Saturday!

It was a great ride and the museum was fun. Looking forward to Saturday's ERC. Hope it doesn't rain...

    Hey Raleigh XJers,

This is very short notice (finally got the flyer information) but there is a Make A Wish Foundation charity ride this Saturday (6/13). It's sponsored by my employer and leaves from the Cape Fear Electric Plant in Moncure, NC. Ride is open to all employees and their families and friends. Here are the summary details:

1.) $20.00/bike, $5.00 for passengers (includes hotdogs, ice cream, door prize).
    2.) Registration 0730-845 am, leaves at 0900.
3.) Police escorted 95* mile ride through Chatham, Wake, Lee Counties
4.) T-shirts extra ($16.00 as long as they last)

    * No stops along the way adjacent to gas stations so you'll need to fuel up at the station right near the plant and be able to handle that range.
    Rain date 6/20.

PM me if interested with your email and I'll send you the flyer.

Wish I could, my daughter is graduating from high school that day. It would be nice, Moncure is only 20 miles from me. I have not had a chance to ride much this year.
